A Nice Walk ( with photos )

Please have your face checked … @PeppermintPatty … This area in Queensland has many skin cancer clinics due to,the outdoor lifestyle / beach / surfing….and we found a excellent skin doctor up here we make a point of seeing each year …he found a nasty very small SC in my hand last year and luckily got the lot whet he cut it off ….ive had lots cut off ..burned off …used Efudix cream on ….it turns your skin ( treated area ) red blisters / dry scabs after you stop using it …but it clears your skin …
Sorry, I missed this post. I can’t see my dermatologist. She’s not in this province. The next time I have an appointment with my doctor I’ll ask for an appointment with a new one. My last treatment she cut the cancer out then used some type of ointment that burned it out.. it never grew back.

I’m glad you’re finally getting rain Kadee.
A lack of water is a serious problem.
This area had a very grim beginning in the 1800’s as it has lots of water (sea) but no fresh catchment or storage for fresh water
All our freshwater with the exception of the rainwater we catch and store in tanks ..our mains is pumped from a tiny town where the Murray river flows through which is about 3 hours drive away from us

The ground would be still warm at home so the area will green up quickly ….

Ive gotta go finish packing , we will be leaving at crack of dawn tomorrow …heading to Tamworth for our first nights stopover (/Tamworth ) is known as Australia’s country music 🎶 capital ..its around 600+ km from here

Have a safe trip home Kadee. I hope it rains at your residence all during your journey back.
Don’t forget to take loads of pictures to show us.

Today is very windy so we went on the forest trail. It is only 14 degrees here in the city and it rained a lot last night and this morning so the rivers are really flowing.

I can’t help but notice the growing ground cover here on this trail. Besides the ferns there are white flowers everywhere. There’s also a flower called the Pink Lady’s Slipper. Here it is

Today I saw all kinds of painted rocks which I moved from one place to another.
I saw one really nice rock along the pathway that read ‘Love Yourself.’
IMG_9144.jpeg
We walked approximately 4 kilometres today and saw 4 people and 2 dogs.
Have a nice day.

Today we walked along the Atlantic Ocean trail. It was 17 degrees Celsius with a slight breeze. We almost walked the whole trail …..but 3/4 of the way we were stopped by the remains of a dead animal. I didn’t see much of it before my husband literally walked in front of me to block my view while turning me around. Yuck! It looked like it could have been a cat. Anyway it completely ruined my walk. These are the pictures I took beforehand this happened..

This is your first time seeing snow? Wow! 😮
Was it scary driving in it? How was your husband? Traveling 600 kilometres a day is a lot. Do you stop at restaurants or make your own picnics?

Today we went to the park for our walk. We scooped 2 wild blueberry sprigs to plant at our home garden.
IMG_9185.jpeg

When we left, it was very cloudy, when we came back there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. We stopped by the garden centre to pick up some (6) pink wave petunias.

@Kadee

I saw snow when I visited Kryal Castle in Victoria. It was cold .. I was surprised to hear there is snow skiing there in winter.

We are in Mildura right now …….. @Pinky it’s the first time we’ve actually traveled through the city part of Mildura in years …if we travel this way we normally bypass the city part , which is a rural city ….so it’s not a big city as such …more
Like a huge country town …only 500 km to home ….been away 7 weeks …to the day ..left on April 24th

Today we had 6 stores to go to so we went for a walk in the city. I grabbed some painted rocks to distribute elsewhere. I notice lots of rocks being moved now and new ones being added. My husband even participated in the rock moving game which I thought was really cute. IMG_9199.jpeg
We saw 2 groups of people today; only 2 per group so not many.

Today I saw a LOT of pink lady slipper plants.
IMG_9197.jpegWe noticed lots of wild blueberry bushes growing along the hiking trail which shouldn’t be surprising considering all the pine trees growing. Blueberries love very acidic soil.
IMG_9200.jpeg
Today was sunny with sun showers and a high of 20 degrees Celsius. A perfect day for planting. Have a great day everyone.

What a beautiful sitting area ( where the deck / seat is ) @PeppermintPatty ..sit ..think look at stunning scenery ….
I almost missed your post. It IS a nice sitting area. It’s at the top of a really big hill which overlooks the bay. It’s very scenic.

It looks like you’ll be home tonight. Were you a bit homesick? Do you travel every year? 7 weeks is a long time! What do you think of snow? Was it cold enough that it stuck to the ground?

No we normally only go to Queensland for 4 weeks @PeppermintPatty
Yes we travel to Queensland most winters ….however there’s very little dancing there now days so it’s not the same
anymore ,prior to Covid we traveled to the same place …same apartment we rented year to year …
( for 8 years ) then along came Covid and everything changed ….lots of dances were forced to close …and never opened again …
We usually went up and back pre covid by plane ~ and just walked to most venues …or a short bus trip to one that was a little further away

When we crossed the border from Victoria to South Australia it was nice and sunny …..and still very dry

Today we had a bit of running around to do. We had so get a new collar for our little guy. His old one broke when we put it in the washing machine to clean it. We bought him a new blue one. It looks really cute. IMG_9207.jpegIMG_9206.jpeg
Heres a picture of the 4 robins. They grow so fast. Apparently the grow to be their mothers size in only 10 days.
IMG_0956.jpeg
Here are some sheep not far from where we live. IMG_9211.jpeg
We stopped at the garden centre to pick up 3 more petunias for our stand up pots. We have 9 pots that look like this.
IMG_9213.jpeg
Have a wonderful day. It’s a bit cooler today. It’s 15 degrees but there’s a cool breeze coming off the water.

Today we went to the park again. We saw a small yacht and watched it go through the channel from the Atlantic Ocean to Bras ‘ D Ore Lake.
IMG_9220.jpeg

IMG_9216.jpeg
Here are some wild flowers. There were many purple irises but they don’t show up in the photos very well. I’m not sure what these yellow ones are. IMG_9221.jpeg
The nature trail we went on.
IMG_9223.jpeg
Bras D’ Ore lake. It’s a huge salt water lake. Perfect for fishing. My sister in law is going to go fishing with her brother and dad in a few weeks.

IMG_9224.jpeg
Have a nice day.
