A Nice Walk ( with photos )

Thanks Medusa. My husband and I both discussed that while walking. There’s a noticeable improvement. She was walked ahead of us on the entire walk, even ran about 10 times. Her limp wasn’t noticeable today which we were thrilled about.

The main medicinal ingredient in the supplement is green lip muscle powder. It’s actually known to rebuild cartilage. We are both very pleased with the fact that she likes the supplement. There’s no trying to hide it in other food. We just put it on top of her regular food.

The grouse shot is very interesting. All birds have interesting mating behaviour. This male was definitely showing mating tendencies yet my husband claims that their mating only happens in April and May. I guess they didn’t get the memo. What I find surprising about grouse is their lack of speed. We’ve almost run over some several times. They cross the road when cars are coming. They don’t seem to have common sense in this regard.
It's so nice that you don't have to try and sneak her supplements to her. :) I have to hide Lucius' tummy meds in peanut butter and sort of wipe it on his tongue to make sure he doesn't just lick the peanut butter off.

I'm glad she's feeling better. :)

That's funny. Maybe grouse are introverts and living in their head to much too pay attention. 😅

Edit: Freaking typo

Today we went for a forest walk in town. Most of the pathway was cleared like this. IMG_2175.jpeg
There were several icy spots but they were easy to walk around to avoid slipping.
IMG_2176.jpeg

We met one man at the start of our walk and one woman with a dog. She picked her dog up when they walked by. The dog must have been 50 or 60 pounds.

Our dog did really well on our 3 1/2 kilometre walk. The supplement seems to be working and fast at that. I’m really impressed.

After our walk we went to the store to pick up a few things. I couldn’t help but notice some seagulls perched on the lamp posts. There was a seagull per lamp post. I’m not sure why I found it amusing but I did. City birds. 😂

That's very funny, how those gulls are arranged, Patty!😁
Thanks for taking that photo and posting it!

I like that 2nd photo too. The details of that path, fascinated me.

Are any of the trails marked, especially the forest ones,
or is it always obvious, without being marked?

It's wonderful to hear how your doggie is doing.

Hi Kaila, thanks for the comments.
The trail is very well marked. There are many different routes to take but there are maps per route and small metal tags embedded in the trees. Plus there are manmade benches and bridges throughout.
There’s even a lookout platform to view the river that’s down bellow. It’s about a 10 kilometre walk so we won’t go until our girl gets a bit better. Even then, her health takes a priority.

OMG, Patty that is a great picture of the Seagulls! 😅 It reminded me of the Seagulls in the movie, Finding Nemo. "Mine. Mine." 🤣

So glad your pup is continuing to improve!

OMG! I loved that movie Nemo. The seagulls were so funny. The whole movie was funny.
Now I want to see the movie Nemo again. “Mine, mine, mine, mine”

We are both thrilled with our dog’s improvement. It’s truly miraculous!

And the little crabs! "Hey. Hey. Hey." 🤣

That entire movie was so good!

Yes, it's amaze how quickly your pup is responding and so great!

Today we went into Sydney to get our dogs groomed @ Petsmart so didn’t do any of our usual walks.

This is where we stopped to take them for a quick walk. None of it had been plowed yet so we didn’t go back to rhe parking lot area.

We went to Swiss Chalet for some chicken & ribs. It’s been a while since we’ve been and it was really good. I like my husband’s ribs better though. We had an older waitress serve us. We made sure to tip her well.

After lunch we had 1 1/2 hours to kill so we went to the ocean to take some pictures of the boats.

There were some nice fishing boats there.
IMG_2200.jpeg
All the lobster boats were pulled up out of the water.
IMG_2204.jpeg
Then we went to walk on the board walk but none of the snow was cleared yet so we passed. While there taking pictures of the big violin Pet Smart phoned and told us that our dogs were ready.

When we got to Petsmart Megan told us how good are dogs had been. One can never hear that too much. I was so proud of them. Then she brought them out and they looked so good. We tipped her well also and made sure to get her name so they could get used to being with one groomer who treated them well.

Today was a great day for our entire family. The only thing I regretted was not saving the chicken I couldn’t eat for them. A true doggie bag.

I hope you all had a good day.IMG_2208.jpeg

Today is -12 feels like -21 but the sun was shining. It sounds bitter cold but I wore my extra warm coat and was too hot. I wish I’d worn my thinner coat.

We put winter jackets on the dogs cause they have next to no fur. They aren’t too fond of the big ski coats but they needed the extra warmth.

The paths were filled with snow. A bit hard to walk on but not slippery.

Loved your photos, @PeppermintPatty ! It feels like I'm on vacation whenever I see them!

You can buy green lip mussel oil or powder on line. Amazon carries it . I’m trying to figure out how to post a link but haven’t been successful. It’s a bit on the expensive side but seems to work miraculously. I’m considering buying some myself. I’ll keep trying to post that link for you.

I love the focus on the dappled light on the snow, today. Pretty.

Today it was snowing when we went for a walk so we decided to go where we knew there ‘d be tracks to walk in. We went to the ATV trail that follows the river.

Our old dog was runnng again today which was great to see. It’s been a definite improvement with her over the past week.
I’m going to try and get some of that green lip mussel powder or oil for myself.

It snowed our entire walk .
I hope you’re having a great day. IMG_2229.jpegIMG_2235.jpeg
