A phrase from the past..

I hadn't heard this in decades, and it was just like a key into the past.:
"and, now in living color........"
Remember when color TV was a big deal.
yes I do... we didn't get colour TV until well into the late 70's.. although my friends at school in the late 60's had it in their homes... my father didn't want to pay for a colour TV Licence which was much more expensive than a black and white one...

I got married in '76.. and we were donated an old B&W tv which only had one working channel.. so it wasn't until late '70's before we could afford to get a colour TV and then it was rented from a TV store , rather than bought by us.. ..but I do remember clearly watching tv those first few weeks feeling like I was in the Cinema because everything was in such vivid colour

My parents gave in, and finally got a color TV set years after most households had them. I’ll always remember watching shows of the era on my parent’s old black and white set, however, which had a screen small by today’s standards housed in a large wooden piece of furniture…
