A plague of frogs, brought by my cat!

Most cats have a hunting instinct, some more than others. My one deceased cat used to bring home abundant birds and baby bunnies, leaving me with the clean-up. My current cat seems to specialize in frogs, little things with a main body measuring perhaps 1” to 1-1/2” in length. She’ll knock off and bring home perhaps two a night.

Frogs decay quickly and soon draw ants, so I need to clear away their carcasses ASAP.

I guess I’ve got a tiny tiger, a nemesis of amphibians! Do any of you cat owners have problems with your felines bringing home “gifts?”

It's a tribute to you that she brings you "offerings". She's providing for her loved ones.

I know you'd rather that she do her "shopping" at Walmart, but what's a poor kitty to do?

Seriously, though, I had the same problem with a cat I had years ago. He was the Mighty Hunter and kept us well-stocked with his prey.

Our two cats find small mice and just torture them. I have a hard time watching it, because it dies so slowly and they don't eat them. I have decided that when I can, I will rescue the abused mouse. Maybe that is my new calling, start a mouse rescue center!?

I did when I had cats. Some mice and birds. Once, a dead snake, but no frogs.
