A portal to another world opens in front of you.

Looks like Ursula has already been in and see what's there...

Oh did I say Ursula Andress? I meant to say Sandra Bullock!πŸ˜‚

I've already stepped through the portal. I'm intrigued by what I see and so far I like it. Now, I'm going to take a chance going forward to see what other wonders I might behold. Risky? Yes, but at this age, I'm willing to stick my neck out. If it goes south, and it's not all that I'd hope for, so be it. I'll deal with it.
The nail that sticks its head up gets pounded down, and I no longer have the hair for that. Take it from someone with recent experience.

I wouldn't be willing to stick my neck out if I couldn't take a pounding. I'm not without experience, and I've got plenty of hair. So, I'm in.

JMO, but screws are more reliable than nails at holding things together, and only a fool would pound on a screw.
That being said, you do need the right tool for the screw, because there are different varieties and kinds of screws.

Um, let me see if I've got my head screwed on right. πŸ€”

Screws are more reliable than nails, and only a fool would pound on a nail. So you're saying if you want to hold something together, it's better to screw than nail, and you need the proper screwdriver to do the job?

Exactly. there are varieties of screws. Some are longer, some are shorter, and it's rather important to know which variety of screw you need for satisfactory results. Quality is important.

I've come to know about the meaning of portals in every day life.

Each day you make decisions. Examples: Do I take the car or do I take the bus? Should I cancel my plane tickets or go with it... Do I say yes to his proposal or do I refuse...

It goes on and on. Therefore, a kind of portal opens up and whatever you decide brings you to a new chapter in your life, a new reality.

So, you decide all the time where you'll go next. It's the same with timelines. If you could go back to the past, and changed it, then upon returning to your original timeline, it might be totally changed.

Sometimes, you get to make a hard decision standing on the threshold of an unknown future. You don't know what's ahead, but you cross into that portal with hope in your heart... Then, no regrets, crossing into that portal was the best decision I'd ever made...

At the end of the day, it's your ultimate decision to cross or not to cross...

It's called the domino effect .... at each crossroads, each decision, each choice, sets you upon a new path or carrys you further along the one you're currently following .... ergo: each one sets you up for the next one.
Life is full of many doors ..... it's deadends that can be most challenging
