On our way to the roller rink, we always stop for coffee in a town that has a population of less than 200. Other than the gas station where we get our coffee (and visit with some friends), one school, and a couple of churches....there is nothing to this town. If you blink more than twice, you'll completely miss the town.

When we were leaving yesterday, a guy pulled up with an incredibly rare collector's car.

It is a 1969 Yanko 427 SC Nova.

The last time one was auctioned off (years ago), it sold for $400,000.

There were only 37 of these cars built, and it is estimated that there are less than 10 still in existence!
And we saw one!!!!

I saw a real Yenko with the 360 HP 350. I didn’t realize they made them with that combo until I chatted up the fella. Cool cars, the Yenkos.

I have been to more car shows than I can out. I have seen many of these retro car kits. However, if they are at the show to be judged, they must label it as a retro. To be the real deal, the owner needs to produce the title so the judges can run the numbers and then check to make sure the numbers on the car match those on the title.

As long as a person doesn't try to pass off a clone as the real deal for investment purposes. I would rather have a clone, so I could drive it and enjoy it without worrying about devaluation. Have some fun and bring back old memories for many.

I see these cars auctioned off on Mototrend Network. They have the Barret-Jackson and Mecum auto auctions throughout the year. You're right. They usually go for big bucks.
