A real nice Christmas

We had our family Christmas gathering today, and it went really well....in spite of this Virus. We had it at the oldest daughter/son-in-laws house, which has a really large family/rec room, where we were able to keep a fair amount of distance, per the recommendations. Everyone takes this virus seriously, and we all wore masks...even the young children. The weather was beautiful, and we spent about half the day outdoors...light jacket weather. In spite of trying to abide by the Covid rules, we still managed to adapt quite well. We had a abundance of delicious food, and deserts, and it was a hoot watching the little ones opening their presents.

No one in the family has had any health issues in months, and we will all be watching ourselves closely for the next few days, just in case. At a minimum, it was sure nice to be able to get together again after all these weeks and months of semi-isolation.

I spent it with my youngest son and his family; only the children who still live at home. I didn't get to visit my oldest son but his wife has severe diabetes and I sure didn't want to put her health at risk. Had a great phone conversation with them, though.

It can be done right with caution...We had my MIL's 100 birthday the way you described,went well..But we did not celebrate Thanksgiving or Christmas because the virus hit our area stronger..
