A Sad Day for Wales!

Today is the anniversary of the day in 1301, of the final overthrow of of the Welsh Royal Family and the illegal installation, by force of arms, of an English usurper, a position currently held, still illegally, by Charles Windsor, or, more properly, of Saxe Coburg!

It's a principality, not a kingdom.

Llewellyn ap Gtuffydd is the last native Prince, though some adhere to Owain Glyndwr.

You'll be wanting to re-build Offa's Dyke next and probably send Charles the bill :)

Why do you think I moved to Fife, and voted "Yes"!?

Seriously, I just wish they wouldn't call the eldest son on the British monarch "Prince of Wales. He isn't. He doesn't live here, doesn't speak the language, has no home here and rarely visits.

However ,there is hope for the future - there is a school of historians/ genealogists who can trace a connection between Prince George and Llewellyn the Great (1172 - 1240) through his mother's side!

Laurie, I must admit to only visiting Wales a couple of times on holiday and a couple of times in Cardiff on business. I'm afraid the Scottish parliament building is a bit of a monstrosity (as are many of the MSPs ;)). It looks really out of place set next to Holyrood house.
