Aside from dating sites for seniors there are chatrooms as well, but, like the dating sites, they are chock full of fakers, and it has gotten worse! Recently I joined one, just hoping to meet some online friends and chat, communicate, email, etc. But as usual, it didn't work out like that. While in the room, a private message came in and began chatting with a guy.
I asked to see a picture of his face, and when he sent it, I fell back in my chair! I would say he resembled Robert Redford.
A very handsome man, well dressed, and appeared to be quite well off. Of course, this threw an immediate red flag for me, as to why would a man this good looking and well off, would be interested in me? Ok, I knew it wasn't real but decided to play along for a while.
The chats continued, then messages, then emails, etc. He overwhelmed me with compliments, and began using the word "love", yep, a real Romeo eh LOL? Then came the real nonsense, he began telling me of his money problems, hmm, funny how he looked well off to me.
He kept on and on asking for money, finally telling me he was ill and needed money as soon as possible! This is where I drew the line. First off, he is lying about who he is, now lying about a mystery illness, which he never described to me.
I put the pictures he had sent me into an image search engine, and presto! It popped up on dozens of dating and social sites, one even showed the person in the picture he was claiming to be with a younger blonde woman sitting on his lap, at a ski resort, and another one a boat lol!! Yep, he really needs the money lol! When I confronted him with this, he told me that woman was his daughter lol!! A daughter that sat on his lap with her arms wrapped around his neck?
I blocked him everywhere, so hence, the end of that ridiculous person whomever they were. Senior ladies living alone, beware of the many fakes out there! There's more of them than real people lol!
Now, do I wish I could meet a man who loves me and look like Robert Redford? Yes, I do!! Will it er happen? No, it won't
, but a girly can dream the impossible dream, after all, dreamin' is free!
