A sincere Thanksgiving thought

R.I.P. With Us In Spirit Only
Yesterday The Fire Dept. had to come here and pick me off my patio floor. I had fallen due to my knees giving out. Luckily my wife found me there soon and called 911. Four of our Paramedic crew showed up in 3 minutes and helped (who am I kidding, they lifted me up without my help) and got me in the house, checked me out (EKG, etc). After this event I got thinking about how much it means to we seniors to have each other and this meeting place. I have such a profound respect for you that I wanted to let you know how important you all are to me. Matrix and Sea Breeze especially are big in my life for providing this place to meet. If ever I fail to show up here in a week...you'll know I just couldn't. Bless you all my friends.

Jim, Glad to hear that you are OK!

Maybe it's time to start thinking about Life Alert!

How about Canadian Mist? It okay? Actually I was alcohol free at the time......but not so much after...*hug

Falling outside in the cold can be life threatening! Have your cell with you. Now you know who to call when you need a "pick me up"!

Glad you're ok, man. Maybe knee braces are now in order. I am considering wearing my security system remote, in the coming years. It's as small as the smallest car remotes, and can summon EMS, on demand, as well as police and fire.

So glad it turned out for you, sir Jim

On a much lesser scale, when I was in the waiting room while my wife was having surgery, I got up from the cushy chair I was in and immediately crumpled to the floor
Lotsa horrified looks from folks
Heh, it was due to my left leg being completely asleep
So I crawled back to the chair and wiggled my leg ‘til it woke up

You take care, coolest of old dudes
Best do as suggested here
Have a device or cell phone near

I'm gonna have a snort of the good stuff in yer honor

Bless you, too, Jim. You are very important to these forums, and to me, too. Be careful and stay well.

Glad you hear you're okay Jim and thanks for the kind words. Thank goodness your wife was there to help out, I know neither of you are in the best of health but I wish that you both stay safe and healthy as possible. Enjoy your posts and hope to see them for a long, long time...be careful my friend and try not to overdo. :sentimental:

Thanks for the kind words folks. I paid my first annual bill for life alert for my wife and me this morning. We'll both be wearing them very soon.

Hi Jim,thanks for letting us know what was happening to you, thank God your wife was there and called 911
Please take care of your self,I always look forward to reading your posts Sue

Jim, I don't know if you can do this in your area, but an elderly lady in my family had one of those "realtor boxes" hanging on her doorknob that the local EMS service had access to so that they could get into her house without having to bust down the door if she was unable to let them in.

So glad you're ok & got your medical alert . Mine came in handy on1/6/17 when i couldn't feel the floor well with my too thick socks, slid & broke r femur. Amb there in 20 min, I also have the lock box on the door & the company has the combination. In case they didn't I started yelling it out as soon as I heard them coming.

I have a permanent lock box attached just outside my front door installed by the fire dept.
