A song about my generation

Brings me back to July of 1970 at Sheppard AFB when most of our graduating AIT class including myself got orders to Vietnam.

Country Joe's "Vietnam" really got to the heart of the matter for our generation and how nearly all of us felt about an idiotic war that cost so many lives (on all sides) and stole the peace of mind of almost all others who were boots on the ground.

RIP Country Joe.

His performance was one of the highlights of the '69 Woodstock festival. That's where most people know him from.

Joe has died today.

I used to sing that song all the time in the late 60's & early 70's. I had one of his band's albums. Back then I heard that Country Joe and the Fish were going to appear on the Ed Sullivan Show. But when the network heard about the F_ _ K chant, their appearance was cancelled. The song was on the album that I bought, but on the album, the beginning of the song started with F-i-s-h, instead of the other word.
