High winds and torrential winds could present dangerous conditions. An occasional hurricane threatens my area so I can relate to their situation and wish them good luck riding it out...

I agree. It does sound like your tio...

Well, get up there with some super glue and see what you can do...:eek:nthego:

Well, if you have insurance try not to worry about the roof...

Yes we do but since we've had to use the insurance for roof damage 2 or 3 times the deductible is now £1,000. Plus it's inconvenient to sort it out from Thailand. Had to do so last year. Our friend checked on it after a storm and let us know some of the ceramic tiles had been blown off.

Hmm, maybe you could change your choice of roofing materials if this is a regular event...

Sometimes you have to break with tradition. I hope that there are no ordinances prohibiting anything but tiles...

No, but we were nearly designated a Historic Conservation Village which makes it very difficult to make any changes to your house at all.

Now passed. Most of the damage seems to be from floods, not wind, though it was pretty fierce on this coast.

Unprecedented rainfall, on already saturated ground. Rain now eased but rivers won't peak until tomorrow.

Small beer to those of you in Tornado Alley or around the Mississippi, but when Brits get a "Danger to Life" warning it's pretty bad!

Thanks SB. I'm sure our friend will tell us if there are any tiles laying on the ground as he checks on the house often.

When a tornado tore off part of our roof, the firemen came and covered the opening with plastic. It was 3 months before our hose was back in order.
