We needed to get outta Dodge, so we took a trip to San Marcos to visit the CAF. It was deserted except for the volunteers working on the planes. We had a wonderful guided tour of the planes in the hangar and the museum. I wish I had taken more pics but the commentary was so good I plum forgot! Here is a picture of a Mitchell bomber that was in the forefront on D-day. The inside was so Spartan. It took 3 years and 3 million dollars to restore it. The CFA flew it to Normandy for the anniversary of D-day a couple years ago. It was a very worthwhile trip.
