Brodie castle (originally the Brodie tower house) was the home of the Brodie family for over 600 years. The last inhabitant being the somewhat eccentric actor Ninian Brodie who died in 2003.
In the hall is a bronze sculpture of George, the orangutan. It was considered superstitious to have 13 people sitting down to dinner, so George was given a place at the table to make the numbers up to 14.
