A walk-in shower being installed

I have things already in my garage that are for our remodel. When we have everything bought & our contractor give us the dates he will be there, we'll do the demo. He'll do everything we can't or don't want to do. I'll do the painting & leg work. It helps with the price of doing it.

The guys who replaced carpet (had to be done) in MIL house said they didn't ever put high end carpet in their houses. My neighbor, who does tile work on the side, said he wouldn't ever put high end fixtures/tile/etc. in his bath or kitchen. His reasoning was things going out of style. He also said you get tired of what you have, but if you put a lot of money in it, you don't want to get rid of it.

After that, the only thing I will put money in is really good paint. I have neutral colors that go with different things & I HATE TO PAINT ANYWAY. I love my kitchen cabinets, but they are a style that has been around for a long time & go good with our log cabin. Since I didn't want more natural wood in the house, I choose painted cabinets. Very easy to change the color when I want to update.

If I buy what I really like I don’t get tired of it. I haven’t had carpet in 30 years because I hate it.

I have a tub with the shower combo in my main bathroom. Just a shower stall in the basement bath, that is home for the cat's litter box, lol.

I might just take a bath once a year, but having an Epsom salts bath for sore muscles, or just good smelling bubble bath is nice when you want it. I mainly take showers and wash my hair at the same time.

I wash the pup in there too, just gave him a bath a couple of days ago...good boy, stands still and lets me do my thing until he's rinsed off.
