Aaron Rodgers and Packers "punishment"

C'mon. Mere $$? And a mere drop in the bucket for both Rodgers and Packers. No suspension.

Colin Kaepernick took a knee to protest policy brutality and he's finished because a prominent politician said so. Aaron Rodgers lied and possibly endangered how many people, including family and teammates and the NFL is going to bill him for $14,650? Pffft. Pocket change to him. The Packers will write a check for $300K. No big deal to them. Peanuts.

There's something radically wrong with this picture.

Kaepernick's problem was that he wasn't a great quarterback. Had he been of Rodgers' caliber, they never would have sidelined him.

That said, I'm no longer a Rogers fan. I kind of sensed there was something I didn't like about him and had my suspicions but it wasn't until this anti-vax fiasco that it was confirmed. For the money he's being paid, he needs to at least pretend he's a decent person.

In that the teams in the NFL pay the Commissioners salary, I have difficulty believing any information from his office regarding
how much he fines teams.
If a player is fined, his team contest the fine-basically to be able to state, ' Were in our players corner.

An NFL player, a couple weeks ago, was fined $20,000 by the NFL for having his jersey not tucked into the waistband of his uniform. Rodgers was fined $14,000 for not following COVID protocol and putting both himself and others in jeopardy. Now, if that ain't bowing to celebrity status, I don't know what is!!

We have had State Farm home and auto insurance since 1981. As we have moved around and time has passed, we have been with seven different SF agents. We have never shopped our insurance, always feeling we were getting good service at a fair price. Two years ago, we did have a claim denied that should have been covered. Got a flimsy excuse from our local agent and still have a sour taste in our mouth. Now, with State Farm almost applauding Rodgers for his attitude towards his lying and anti-vax rhetoric, I AM going to see if some other local insurance offices might want our business. Really disappointed in them!!!!

Over the past year, I thought something happened to Rodgers. His appearance became scruffy with the greasy long hair look. Plus his preseason hold-out where he surprisingly and eventually caved. Now that I know he listens to snake oil Joe Rogan, I see Rodgers in a whole different light.

The fine is ridiculous when compared to another player's jersey not being tucked in. Celebrity status has a lot to do with it. Case in point, during last Monday night's game, the refs allowed the Bears rookie quarterback (Fields) to be knocked around without calling roughing the passer. But the future hall of famer Ben Roethlisberger got the roughing calls very quickly.

I didn't watch that game, but I don't doubt it. There's biases in all realms of life. Perhaps one day, the use of AI will eliminate that.

Just because a man gets paid to play football doesn’t make him above other people, or deserving of more leeway. I think Colin K and Aaron R are a couple of sniveling A. H. s.
