I'm so glad somebody heard this baby crying and helped...http://www.buzzfeed.com/davidmack/abandoned-baby-down-sewer

The baby was rescued and taken to a children’s hospital, where he remains in a stable condition. Police said they believe the infant was born on Monday and somehow dumped into the sewer on Tuesday. He was wrapped in what appeared to be a hospital blanket.

His mother has been found. He was wrapped in a hospital blanket and they used this to track the mother. She is not some teenager; she is 30 years old.

She has been charged with attempted murder and refused bail. She dropped him down a 2.5 metre drain so it is amazing that he has survived. Sydney is prone to downpours when it rains at this time of year and we had 40oC two days ago. Providentially he cried out when a couple of cyclists were passing.

No other details are known.

I just read that in today's papers here DW....such a heartbreaking story...poor little mite, I hope to God he has no lasting physical effects, it'll be a miracle if not..

This afternoon Sydney had a massive thunderstorm with heavy rain. That storm water drain would have been a gusher.
The baby appears to be OK externally and the doctors are checking him out for internal injuries.

They think he may been down there since last Tuesday - up to 6 days in all.

Abortion is legal in NSW and funded on Medicare.

We know nothing about the mother but it appears that she has a family supporting her. In spite of the pixilation of her image, I'm guessing that she is a South Sea Islander. She may not have known what her options are. I really have no idea.

If the details don't surface by Wednesday evening
you'll be whistling down the wind because I'm going a'cruising on Thursday.
For over three weeks. A cone of silence will fall over this little dingo.

Unless the cruise company comes good with some free internet time.

How dare you! And did you get permission from this forum? Members are only allowed a three day absence without getting approval in advance. Further, I see no reason for you to get permission to escape the holiday season. And further, further, aren't you worried about getting that nasty virus that inhabits cruise ships?

You people sneaking off had better find out if you can maintain your responsibility to Senior Forums away from home...
