Hello All, I am a 66-year-old male from Central NY State. I moved here from another county in NY in 2014. My beloved wife of 26 years died unexpectedly from a massive stroke right after we moved here. I have no family. My friends are two and a half hour drive away now and we are growing further apart since I moved. I have a new partner but miss my deceased more than I can express. I can't seem to make new friends probably because I am not working. Anyway, I came here looking for peers to discuss things with and read about.

Tim, I'm from the US - 4 states but mostly Michigan. Moved here in 2000 to marry a Scot - my kids were all grown by then. I became a dual citizen so have two passports and vote in both countries.

Welcome from Oregon. The lost of a dear one can be excruciating. Coming to a new country where you didn't know anyone and having that happen must have been extremely difficult. Each person we choose to love sets on us differently. The new relationship has the possibilities of bringing it's own benefits. No one can replace the one we have lost. The best we can do is to allow the sea breeze to wash into our soul to cleanse out the sadness, and embrace the love of the person who is gone, while opening to what we learned from them and allowing it to enrich our lives. I know, that's hard to do, especially since it's only been two years. But you will make it. Know that. Here we can provide moral support as you need it.
