Acetaminophen products like Tylenol have never worked for me, unless they add some Opioid like Codene. It's like "water doesn't taste much like coffee unless you add.... coffee."
If you cast a vote keep in mind that the poll is only concerned with Acetaminophen that is plain, with no other meds.

I actually found it more useful than the prescribed opiod after my shoulder replacement. Opiods seem to work about as long as a good card trick. As soon as your brain realizes it is being tricked it doesn’t work as well. . I am having the other shoulder done in a month and expect I will feel that way again.

Acetaminophen has never worked for me-but now I am stuck with it and only in very limited amounts. I have always taken aspirin(years ago) then Ibuprophen, then Naproxen. The liver doesn`t like any of those things, but apparently Tylenol is the lesser of the evils. So if I have pain that I can`t handle,I take one Tylenol. It helps enough to get me through.

They actually prefer that I take Tramadol but I feel like that`s overkill for something as simple as a headache.Thankfully,I don`t have the need to take anything very often.

"Oooops we ran into some problems."
.....that is what I got when I clicked but my answer is yes maybe for a headache
but definitely no for other pains.. PND, Fibromyalgia etc.

Tylenol is not an anti-inflammatory, and many pains (like back pain) are the result of inflammation. Ibuprofen or aspirin would be better for this.
But for other pain, taking Tylenol and ibuprofen together can be very effective - a toothache for example.

For mild inflammation, try natural anti-inflammatories like raw ginger root.

I take a combination of Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen for my needs when they arise.

Topic though is does acetaminophen help?

Yes, it help some..

My understanding is that ibuprofen works the kidneys and acetaminophen works the liver.
I often alternate small doses of each so that neither organ is over taxed. No science behind that, it just makes sense To me.

My dr told me that two Ibuprofen and one Tylenol is about as strong as the opiates some people take after surgery.
Again, I can’t back this up with any science. So be careful and do what’s best for you.

Don’t really know. I only ever took it when I got a knee replaced but then it was in combination with ibuprofen and heavy duty pain killers. I mostly don’t get headaches.

Rarely do I take any sort of drugs, I had to look up Acetaminophen and found that it was Paracetamol. It is the one pain killer that actually works when I get a migraine attack. Migraine headaches can be so strong that sufferers can vomit with the pain.

If I have nagging discomfort from muscle strain, I usually take naproxen. If I don't get enough relief from it by itself, I'll then try acetaminophen at half the does of an Extra Strength Tylenol. I usually find that combo works well. We have acetaminophen as a generic tablet, and it's easy to break or cut these tablets in half.

Tylenol is good for fever but I use Motrin for most of my pain this seems to work better at my inflammation and a combination of both helps my sinus headaches

It’s about the only thing I can take due to my blood thinners. It “sort of” works but not like aspirin and the others. It eases the wrist pain somewhat but it’s better than taking the oxycodone they gave me. Nope, don’t want it.

I said yes, because at this point it's the only OTC I can take. Ibuprofen and aspirin kill my stomach now.

If I ever need stronger meds because of pain, I'll have to go prescription. If I can get them.
