Someone posted the question, What is the purpose of life and it inspired this sharing.
I want to tell you about the line.
I met a man I Guatemala who was the poorest man in his village. Others had land but he had none and was a laborer for whoever needed help. He had a wife and three kids. they lived in a grass hut and had another hut beside it as the bedroom.
As we talked he said I remember you. We talked in the line. I had to laugh out loud because that is not something you expect to hear when in a foreign country. While in the line we talked about all the things we wanted to do in this life, the things we had heard of and the things we were looking forward to. As we talked and told stories of our lives I realized we had both achieved so many of our goals. We had seen mountains so tall the pierced the sky. swam in the rivers and felt the thrill of being one with nature. We had felt great love and the depths of loss. Created children and watched them become people. He in a poor village as a farmers helper and I in a land of plenty with every opportunity imaginable available to me.
The line we had met in was the line awaiting the opportunity to experience a life in physical form here on earth. I realized it did not matter where we landed or the things we collected. It is about the relationships we have and the experience we have of everything around us.
When we leave this place I hope we can all say it was quite a ride and a life well lived.
