His best known TV role as the principal'Seymour Kaufman' in ABC school drama'Room 222' '69-74,other cast members were Karen Valentine LLoyd Haines,Denise Nicholas
His best known movie role was in'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' '02,he played the patriarch'Gus
He won Best Supp Actor Emmy in '70
he is survived by 2 children
I watched Room 22 every week,one of my favorite shows

I haven't any idea of who he is or was, not heard the name at all.. but R.I.P to someone who brought entertainment to many people

Because character actors get a little less publicity tho they often work more steadily, i had to check out his IMDb (International Movie Database--but has TV shows, actors etc too) page to be sure i was picturing the right one. Then i figured i might as well post the link for others.
