Adolf Hitler was born today (April 20) in 1889.

He was also a demented psychopath. He probably understood that if he survived the war, he would surely not survive the aftermath. Imagine what it must be like for a narcissistic psychopath to lose total control over his life, doing nothing but waiting for his ultimate fate which would be determined completely by outside forces. By orchestrating his own death, he also took it upon himself to orchestrate the death of his wife/lover. Gotta control as much as you can.

Himmler controlled his own situation too by taking his own life in prison, oddly with the help of an allied prison guard, as I recall.
 
wasn't there another joined by his wife and three children all taking cyanide caps?? this sorta thinkin and action would to me demonstrate - all hope is gone and we only have jail to face? and the kids get no choice they are almost forced to self-poison - absolute acts of cowardice not bravery for sure!
 

It seems like I remember another woman with children in his life, but I can't remember if they were in the bunker.
 
He's one of those people (we have some in our country) who has done nothing in his lifetime to justify his existence. He should never have been born. He contributed nothing and only brought harm to people and the world. Same could be said for some in our country, in Russia, in China, & North Korea. There are people in the history of this world, who should never have existed.
 
How Hitler rose to power is quite involved. Many say that if the Great Depression had not occurred, Hitler and his supporters would have faded from history. My grandfather was executed by the Gestapo so I have studied all of this a bit.

I hold no grudges against the German people. My two best friends are of German descent.

He was at the right place at the right time when he started out. Somewhere along the line he went overboard. I found the movie The Wave interesting.
