This is the second time I am posting this topic. My first time was take over by some that think only they have permission to take over and change the topic to their way of thinking, and the rest of us are just stupid and need over run. Those folk now have full control of that thread as I have just pulled out and allow them to post whatever they want, their way. I would hope that this time my post will be allowed to exist as intended, not as a political target for one sided distortion.

The Giving Pledge

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Giving Pledge is a campaign to encourage the wealthiest people in the world to make a commitment to give most of their wealth to philanthropic causes. The campaign specifically focuses on billionaires (or those who would be billionaires if not for their philanthropy) and was made public in 2010 by Warren Buffett and Bill Gates. The Huffington Post reported in April 2012 that "81 billionaires committed to giving at least half of their fortunes to charity".[SUP][1][/SUP] As of May 2014, 127 billionaire or former billionaire individuals and couples have signed the pledge.[SUP][2][/SUP][SUP]

Not sure what purpose starting this new thread serves. Do you think you will better be able to control what people contribute to the subject matter whatever that matter is? What exactly is the purpose if not political conversation? I'm just asking out of curiosity, not accusatory, but trying to figure out the point of the post as I don't see a question. Seems some are for Philanthropy dependant upon intent and determining that intent is what makes the conversation veer off into a quite varied discussion on the matter.

Nice articles on the matter mentions pluses and minuses that have been brought us by critics and supporters:

To answer your question AprillT, my original post has been completely taken over by one very confused and persistent one who wasted no time in putting me down personally and trashing everything I tried to post. I was using middle road items and this person was just loading up with far left.

I just hope some would take a look at what I have posted, on my original forum or my new post, and try to make comments about what I have put up rather than posting only far left stuff as the only things to read or believed.

Original thread = 'Billionaires are giving their wealth to philanthropy' or this thread.
