RGP--- I am not suggesting you were not nice. Obviously I don't know you.I sympathize.
and it is certainly not your fault. My comment was for everyone, not you.
And I am not recommending candy. Only if you need a special favor or special assistance perhaps.
I have had my share of aggravation with medical offices.

Our own demeanor has a lot to do with how we're treated. Some folks have problems wherever they go. i have a friend, who I've known for years, and as soon as I see him I know he will have a litany of people who have recently shown him (in his mind) disrespect. I smile and grunt, never quite agreeing with him, and eventually we'll get past his daily trials and have an enjoyable visit.

A few years ago we had a minor tiff when I told him that he was the bigger problem, not the multitude of people that he interacted with. He'd have none of that thought. haha I told him that if I was one of the people behind the desk, and he gave me "his attitude" I'd get up and throw his ass out in the street. The conversation passed but I know that it never occurred to him that he was very impatient and caustic when some minor bump appeared in his road.

Conversely, I can't remember the last time that I had a problem at the docs, hospital, pharmacy, store, etc.. Maybe I should, at times, but I'm slow to anger and few folks push me to my boiling point.
