Aging engineer/drummer retiring soon

Hi, all, from the San Francisco peninsula. This May 2023 marks my 50 year anniversary in high tech. Along the way I’ve been a professional drummer and then photographer while always having one foot in the computer business. By the way, carrying a drum set is hard work, and playing in clubs can get old.

I plan to retire in September 2023 and then do photography and videography full time, with some travel sprinkled in.

First outing will be a river cruise in Europe. Can anyone recommend one?

I look forward to chatting with you all!

Steve

Welcome you to the forums, Steve. Good to have you here!

Added: and I know what you mean about carrying drums. My husband is a conga drummer.

San Francisco has great weather. I am not that far from you in Reno. I am sure you will really enjoy the forum. I have been to Europe 6 times but have never taken a river cruise.

Hi Steve! Welcome from a fellow drummer in East Tennessee. Like you I retired from playing professionally a few years ago because of the hard work of breaking the kit down and hauling it around, and also the late hours. Now I play at home for my own enjoyment. Keep on keeping on!
