Ahhh, rain!

We have been in the triple digits and in a drought in Dallas for almost two months. We are now getting rain and it feels so good. Our Lantanas are finally blooming again and the temperatures are expected to be in the 80's. I will take it. The news is predicting "flash flooding" but so far so good. I never thought I would be so happy to see rainy days again.

It is a beautiful thing isn't it? And the thunder is not to bad, just a low rumble so the dogs aren't crazy. Will be nice to fall asleep with the sound of water dripping from the roof!

It just sprinkled yesterday but this morning I awoke to a steady rain. It looks like an all dayer so far. I love it!

Well I don't want any flooding.. but I'm really praying for rain. a couple of days worth would be fabulous. Today it's overcast and very humid, but there's no forecast for rain...

I won't be out today, cars are just floating away. I can't understand why someone would drive into water when they have been warned.

We were very fortunate in our area, even though we received around 9 inches of rain, mostly overnight. I guess we have good drainage. I headed to the gym around 1pm today, 5 miles away, and there was minor ponding in spots but no stranded cars.

I have actually seen it much worse where we live in Dallas. We had a French drain installed several years ago because water seeped into one side of the house when we had heavy rain. Our wood floors buckled and we had to have them replaced. No problems these days. We lucked out.

I live at the end of a dead end road which can go under water in a couple low spots sometimes. with heavy rain running down out of the hills. I have been stranded here a few times over the years.
