ā€œArtificial intelligence singer hits the country charts; Tennessee’s top lawyer isn’t singing alongā€

ā€œā€”ā€”It seems like the technology has gotten a little bit ahead of the law,ā€ Skrmetti said. ā€œIt’s not clear yet where the lines are or exactly how we are going to protect the internet of these creators this model has sucked up to get to the top of the charts.ā€

Another unresolved question: whether AI-generated artists should be required to disclose that they aren’t human.ā€”ā€”ā€œ.

No, why should they, as long as they aren't represented as known humans.

Here's a video someone posted in another thread. Obviously these aren't real cats.

I'm not sure that I "get it"... on Breaking Rust, is the singer an AI/digital voice, and/or the music?
What about the songwriter... lyrics and music!?!

And what are the chief arguments from the music industry?

I am no expert by any means, but I can see the issues becoming those of using real voices without permission and using songs without a writers permission and they don’t get paid.

There was a blurb on tv, not long ago, that Matthew McConnehay DID give his permission to use his voice in something AI. All well and good, but not if a voice or compilation of voices is used without permission.

I haven’t yet found a good use for AI, including the cat video. I didn’t click on it becasue I know it isn’t real.
