That sounds scrumptious! What kinds of nuts have you used?I buy packets of date loaf - on special - and add 2 cups of chopped nuts, 1 cup raisins and 1/2 cup honey.
Bake for 45 minutes, placing a sheet of foil on top for the final 15 minutes. Stops the top from burning.
Makes for a filling snack.

I am not into walnuts. Maybe next cake will have macadamia nuts. Rather expensive at $30 a kilo but very, very nice.I bet pecans and walnuts would also be good.

That's right we can just look at how pretty the cakes are! Lol. I don't eat sweets that often either.@Ruthanne , I must say on the record that you are a cruel woman making me look at all this when I've finally gotten serious about cutting back on snacks and sugars. So glad I can just look and not have to count the calories!
