Caracals, which are sometimes referred to as African Lynx, are tufted-eared cats that are common in Northern Africa and Southwestern Asia. They are 3 feet long and their tails are 1 foot long. Here's a delightful photo of some Caracal babies.

Watched a great show on PBS awhile back about different species of animals being friends. One that was very impressive was a goat that led a blind horse around all on his own without any human intervention or training.
