All hells breaking loose in......

Our little berg, Sylvan Beach, NY. They, the police, raided a house on 15th Ave, we are on 16th Ave. that has a meth lab with a reported bomb in place. Never saw so many State Police in one area before. Everyone now waiting for a bomb squad to come out of Syracuse.surrounding areas are closed off, so there is no traveling on our street.

Seems like these meth labs are turning up everywhere. Why would anyone want to put these horrible chemicals in their systems.

Wow, that's scarey stuff Pappy! Those meth labs never turn out well, the people doing that are probably wound up so tight they can't think straight anymore. I don't know why they would want to put that crap in their systems, beats me! Just grow a pot plant, or have a few beers, much safer buzz than all those chemicals.

I think some people just have a death wish.

Maybe you guys need to pack up again Pappy, and get back to Florida! :D

By golly, Bonnie. You may have a point there. These labs are getting so common that some are carrying supplies right in their cars.
Last heard that the bomb scare part is over, but still gathering info on the people and doing a search.

Drugs must be hell for the addicts. I would imagine that there are many addicts out there that would like to quit, but can't. Rehabs are very expensive and there are no guarantees that the patient won't relapse. The addicts have to have a lot of money all the time to buy their drug of choice. Most of these addicts have no idea what they are getting themselves into when they start.

An older friend of mine had to send his kid to rehab twice. I don't know how much he spent, but the second time he sent him to Betty Ford and that was maybe 10 or 12 years ago and that must have worked because he has been clean ever since. He holds down a good job, got married and has a couple of kids. So, he is is probably one of the luckier ones.

Update: a man and woman, both in their forties, were arrested for having drugs in their home, making meth and having a false bomb in their house. We drove by the house last night and it is condemned and taped off. Didn't realize how close it was to our campground until we checked it out.

How you gonna' keep 'em
Down in Palm Bay
Now that they've seen Sylvan Beach ...

Years ago when I used to proselytize about how crime could and eventually would reach out to the smallest towns, I was laughed at and ridiculed.

Payback time ... sorry it had to be your place, Pappy.
