Most of my windows have blinds too.. horizontal venetians.. and some rooms have roller blinds... but I also have black out curtains in one bedroom and in the livingroom

Same here. No curtains tho.
I understand the need for black out curtains. With the southern exposure, we get all that heat from the summer and it shines right through my big patio slider. It gets really hot in my living room, but I do love the light it brings.
