Now that there's more than just one (@shout out to @Magna-Carta for his contributions as well), practicing Pagan (though I use that term loosely for myself), I think we can make it a nice space for connection and sharing.Welcome @WOLF ANGEL
I have only been on this thread for a few day. I'm hoping that it will be a place to share the peace and harmony that we look for in our lives.
-Pagan: A person who believes in... something else. That's loosely defined, but all of us could be pagans on that score.
-I don't know. 'Pagan' is defined as any spiritual belief not encompassed by an established religion, but actually, historically, it has established beliefs of its own, so surely Paganism is an established religion.
If 'Pagan' is equated with any evil backward, blood-drinking devil-worshipping witches and warlocks who eat their human sacrifices, then it's still a recognized religion even if it's mostly dead, as opposed to a cult or something (which requires a living spiritual leader).
Definitions should be kept as simple as pos, I think, like maybe:
Paganism: a faith or group of faiths of the Pagan people with core practices built upon tradition and nature.
Happy Halloween!
-Paganism: Is not a Religion it is a Faith.
What she said!!!!-
-
Paganism: Is not a Religion it is a Faith.
When I was /am asked of the difference I try to keep it simple
Religion: Are Teachings which tell you what to believe.
Faith: Encourage to believe.
Paganisim is a multitude of diverse community groups concentrating on specific traditions, practices or elements such as ecology, witchcraft, Celtic traditions .
Wiccans, Druids, Shamans, Sacred Ecologists, Odinists and Heathens all make up parts of the Pagan community
I am sorry, Medusa. I'm afraid I make too much of the word 'forum'.I am really hoping that we can focus this thread on enjoying the beauty of Paganism and avoid, in as much as possible, debates about it as they serve no one.
Different threads have different purposes. I'm comfortable with who I am, and what I believe. I'm also comfortable with what anyone else chooses to believe.I am sorry, Medusa. I'm afraid I make too much of the word 'forum'.
I will leave you guys now in peace.
Let me be clear: I'm not asking anyone to leave. @gruntlabor is right about this being a forum, of course. I was merely hoping we could focus this thread on enjoying paganism rather than debating it.Different threads have different purposes. I'm comfortable with who I am, and what I believe. I'm also comfortable with what anyone else chooses to believe.
I just don't want to be in a position where I feel like I need to justify myself, or my beliefs. No one is forcing me to respond here. I think I need to step back.
Please don't leave on my account.....
