Allergies.

A few months ago over here there were reports
in the press that allergies could be caused by
"Dish Washers", (the machines, not the other
half), because crockery and cutlery washed in
a machine is almost hygienically clean, this means
that children in a house with a dish washer never
get exposed to normal "clean" dishes and spoons,
so their immune system never comes across bad
bacteria/germs that allows their immune system
to practice on these bugs.

This is a good argument.
But another culprit in my understanding just might
be cooking with vegetable oils.

Vegetable oils are very good for salads and cold
uses in menus, but I have read over time that some
oils when heated can turn nasty to the human body,
one of the worst ones is "Virgin Olive Oil", or any
olive oil for that matter.

You never hear chefs talking about vegetable oils as
they don't like them, nor do they use much of it, when
they cook, they seem to used pounds & pounds of butter.

When I was young I never heard about "Peanut
Allergy", or any other, nor did I know of anybody who
had an allergy and all our food was prepared using,
Lard, Dripping, Suet or Butter.

Maybe it is time to go back to the old methods.

I fry in lard, and egg fried in oil tastes of nothing at all.

I could be way off, but maybe not.

Mike.
P.S. I found some information about oils, have a look,
it is very long-winded, but you will get the idea early.

People around the Mediterranean have been using olive oil for cooking for a long time Mike, and they seem to be ok with it.I use Virgin olive oil because it's the best, but do cook fried eggs in a little butter.
I agree that children need to be exposed to all sorts of germs in order to make their immune system strong, you can be too clean!

It may hurt, but having heard all the arguments in favor of "soft exposure" to build natural immunity, my belief is it's bullshit.

The human body cares for itself; the more we try to care for it, the less able it is to do so. Healing occurs from within, with occasional help from the medicos. imp
