Aloha! This is my first visit to this forum so please be patient. I live very near the southern-most point of the United States. It's just me and my two little yappers (Hoot, the toy poodle, and Annie, the shih Tzu). Only been here a little over a year. Grew up in Ohio (Go Buckeyes!), but lived in Florida from 2008 until I moved here.

Mahalo (that's Hawaiian for "thank you")

Aloha Hoot N Annie! We've vacationed in Hawaii a couple of times and visited different islands including the Big Island, absolutely beautiful, love it there! Hi to your furkids too! :)

Hi and welcome from Scotland. Sounds like you have found your paradise. I hope you enjoy being here.

:welcome:

Mahalo for the warm welcome! I need to work on that avatar thing. It's amazing that we can "meet" on here from literally all over the world. Yes Hawaii is nice, but not sure how long I will be here. My parents (Mother is almost 93, step Father is 90) still live in Ohio, my son lives in Denver, etc. I'll be 70 in August (as he knocks on wood..) so moving is a lot harder than it used to be.

Ruthanne - I grew up in Gallia county but moved to Columbus area as soon as I got out of high school. Mostly north Columbus/Worthington. How old is you fur baby? Annie is 15, and mostly blind and mostly deaf, but is otherwise doing okay for an older gal. Hoot is 12 and still thinks he's a puppy.

Ossian and Ameriscot and Meringue - I'd love to visit Scotland. Have been to England multiple times but didn't make it very far north. Had my DNA tested last summer. According to 23andme, my ancestors are all from that corner of the world. And, oh yes, 2.7% Neanderthal.

Hi Hoot N Annie from a fellow Floridian (temporarily in Texas). I see that you lived in Mt. Dora....I was in the Tampa Bay Area for 25 years. Here's a reminder from your former location:
Renninger's.jpgOnly went a few times, but always enjoyed. Welcome.

Curious Kate - Renninger's! I only lived about a mile from there. Some weekends were total madness. People lined up to buy other people's junk. Amazing.

Mahalo for the reminder.

Nona & Gail - Mahalo. I'm also on the city-data forum, but in general, folks here seem "kinder and gentler". I'm recently widowed and I just want to have a friendly way to keep in touch with the rest of the world.

Nona, the main thing I miss about our Florida home is the pool. It was very relaxing to just sit by the pool and have a glass of wine and enjoy.

Greetings from Toronto, Hoot N Annie. You've come to the right place to connect with friendly folk from all over the globe.

Hi Hoot N Annie. My Suzy is 6 years old going on 7 in Oct. She is a great pal of mine. I also have 2 parakeets, Danny and Bailee who are a lot of fun, too. I am in Cuyahoga County or the Cleveland area but not in Cleveland. I live in a nice suburb on the lake.

Ruthanne - Suzy is still just a puppy! My late wife has a daughter (and her husband and 2 boys) who live in Rocky River. Another daughter, who is disabled, lives in Kent. Cleveland has a lot going for it, but too cold and too much snow for me. When I met my wife she was living in Akron, and all I remember is all the snow.
