Alternative to a fax machine

I am occasionally asked to fax documents. I don’t have nor do I want a fax machine and I have no interest in going to an office supply store to use theirs.

I can use my iPhone to scan the documents, then I just email them as attachments. Saves time and also the use of paper and ink.
 

@Ronni .... sometimes it's so easy that we don't think of it... 😀
It dawned on me one day when I needed to make a copy of a document and my printer was acting up. Just take a picture with my iPhone and send as attachment. Easy peasy.

yes we use that method all the time... (y)
 
I use the notes feature to scan/photograph documents.

It amazes me that you can snap a quick photo of a document then edit it to straighten and remove any background so it looks like it was done with a flatbed scanner/printer.
