Guess I dismissed it immediately, particularly since that movie was a meant to be a grand exaggeration from start to finish. A witty one, but an exaggeration nonetheless.@StarSong, ok Boomer is thrown into lots of media conversations. It was just used in the bar fight in Old Dads. It’s like learning a new word, all of a sudden you start to hear it everywhere.
you sound like you think ours is the only generation that has gotten this sort of attitude. Don't you remember "Never trust anyone over 30" from back in the 60s? It's what youth does. And the kids do have the right to this world- they'll inherit it, warts and all.it's not about having friends of all ages with all due respect Star... this rhetoric from the younger generation toward seniors is everywhere..on twitter ( X).. and every social media platform that the young use.. .. even on our Talk shows the younger ( under 40) audiences are absolutely adamant that they have the right to this world and we older people are stealing it from them...
NO I don't remember it..for 2 reasons..one... I was child in the 60's.. and 2, I have never until this forum heard anyone say ''never trust anyone over 30''...you sound like you think ours is the only generation that has gotten this sort of attitude. I turned 18 in 1969 and i remember it distinctly. Hell, I may have even said it. Surely you've heard of hippies? Woodstock? You're in the UK? I spent quite a bit of time in England in 1973 and I can assure you there were youth who were disdainful of the older generations! Some of them were my friends. Don't be disingenuous to make some sort of anti -youth point, it's unbecoming. In short; Ok, Boomer.NO I don't remember it..for 2 reasons..one... what are you talking about?... I'm only quoting what I've read and the attacks that are made on a daily basis online about senior from the younger generation... that's fact...I'm not being disingenuous at all much less to score or make points...how ridiculous...I turned 18 in 1969 and i remember it distinctly. You're right- I was rude. I'm sorry. Complaining about the younger generation is definitely a trigger for me- probably 'cause I have two millennial daughters and many delightful grandnieces and grandnephews. I like kids- I always have. Today's kids are no different than kids of any generation. Pushing back on the older generations is part of growing up. I don't have a problem with it. I remember doing it. My perspective changed with age- as will theirs. It's hard being human. I'm just surprised that so many people our age are shocked that youngsters criticize their elders as if this is some new phenomenon when we all did the same back in the day. It seems like people have very short and selective memories.what are you talking about?... I wouldn't have a problem with it either, but they have become so much uglier about it recently. You're right- I was rude. I'm sorry. I have three millennial children and completely agree with the above. I also clearly recall bristling at older generations' unfair generalizations and the many rude, dismissive comments made about our generation. You're right- I was rude. I'm sorry. Except me...I was in Iowa building printed circuit boards for the Apollo project.About Boomer bashing-
Who really gives a hell about what some turkey types on his computer? It's all media hype.
If this nonsense about the Boomer gen. or Gen X, all the other gens. is to be believed all 71 million Boomers had to be in Haight/Ashbury, stoned, dancing with flowers in our hair in the summer of 1967.
ooooh, that is incredibly cool!Except me...I was in Iowa building printed circuit boards for the Apollo project.
have they? Seems about the same as it's always been. Plus, I kind of can't blame them- the climate crisis is going to be the major issue of their generation- I don't blame them for being pretty pissed off about it.I wouldn't have a problem with it either, but they have become so much uglier about it recently.

A very unfair, untrue generalization. It's a little worse than that. They want us dead.
Let it be so.A very unfair, untrue generalization.
That's ridiculous. Balderdash. Damn, that's a great word, isn't it? Balderdash! I should use it more often. It's a little worse than that. They want us dea
