Does anyone know of a good quality [BEST] quality am antenna ? I have what is considered a 'high-end' radio receiver [stereo] that I like to listen to talk radio on. Trouble is only one station comes in clear ? The others all have fade & static ?

I tried a Radio-Shack antenna , but know help.

Thanks in advance.

AM frequencies are low frequency long wave, and to connect a proper antenna to the AM Broadcast receiver, it would have to be a rooftop-mounted long-wire of about 50 feet.

FM frequencies are much higher, and therefore require very short antennas, which can be just an extended rod.

AM radio is finicky. Depends on the weather and it only comes in strong at night.

The best I can offer is to place your radio near a window and rotate it to get the clearest reception.

Usually the good radio receivers have a built in antenna. But they are directional. You have to rotate the radio.

Where I live we don't even have one AM station left. They are all FM.
