Amazing response from Ebay

A pair of shoes that I ordered and received from Ebay a week ago wore down in the heel in only two days.
The outer thin rubber wore through and there was nothing underneath except air, so no way to repair them.
I fretted about sending them back for a few days and finally send a message to the seller this morning.

Surprise!
Ebay immediately posted a free return label, and sent an email that they had already sent a full refund!
I will either put them in the mailbox today for return, or else drop them off Monday when I turn in my ballot.

You bought a used pair of shoes from Ebay?

That’s how Amazon is whenever I need to return something , only the ā€˜free ā€˜ return labels are always with the items just in case.

Thats great that you can return your shoes..

EBAY has improved its customer support in recent months.....probably due to increased pressure from Amazon. I received a wrong item from EBAY a couple of weeks ago, and after notifying the seller and EBAY, my money was quickly refunded, and the seller sent the correct item at NO charge.

Wow! What a shoddy products! I'm glad that Ebay took care of it properly. Amazon is good about making returns easy too. I just ordered a case of Fresh Scent Microban from Ebay. Only order from there when I can't find stuff on Amazon (or if Ebay is cheaper).

Thank you all for the nice responses. :)

@HermitHogan - I usually only purchase shoes in person. However I had tried this
brand and model on elsewhere and knew that they fit, but not that the heels were hollow.

@OneEyedDiva
The shoes were from an independent seller, thus nothing to do with Ebay, however Ebay
took care of it within minutes. The seller might not even have known how bad the shoes were inside.
I've been using Ebay for quite a long time, and have always gotten a full refund when requested.
The process used to first take some discussion with the seller, but that appears to not be required anymore.

I'm glad this worked out so well for you, John. Yes, so many sellers now... and nothing to do with "used" items nearly as much as in the past. The only used things I've bought at eBay for a long while now, are books. Everything else is brand new.

Last summer I ordered 2 pairs of shoes from diffrent online retailers and received secondhand shoes :sick:
each pair cost me in excess of $170 … ,as I need good stable lace up shoes with arch support due to breaking my leg/ ankle 3 years ago .

Neither wanted to take them back despite sending photos ( wish I’d been able to send the smell of one pair )
They wanted me to pay the return postage….so I posted a review on …Product review website ….that got both moving to issue me a refund and get a return label .
