Amazon Cuts Whole Foods Prices

The amazing thing that will probably effect a LOT more people -
You will be (are?) able to return things you bought on Amazon at Whole Foods. Even better if that means you don't even have to re-box them!

We are supposed to be getting a Whole Foods here...or not. Lots of disputes over potential location, and traffic and such. I agree with those who say a different site would be better. Hope we get one, as I would like to check it out. And supposedly a perk of their marriage to Amazon, Prime members can get a discount.

Apparently, once they get everything set up and running right, an Amazon Prime membership will be like their loyalty card, and Prime members will get even better specials.
We have one here that just opened up last fall before thanksgiving. We went in once and looked; but everything was pretty expensive, even for every day products.
Now that amazon is running it, we will take a look around again. It will be very handy for when we have to return something as well.

Whole foods was fine the way it was. People who shop at WF aren't looking for bargains anyway.

I have a Whole Foods by me that I rarely, if ever go to. The couple of times I went there, I thought the prices were outrageous, much higher for the same products as I could get at Sprouts or Natural Grocers. I also got some cakes/pastries there, thinking they would be really good, but they weren't, just a ripoff IMO. I don't mind paying more for a quality cake, I go to a French bakery sometimes that's very pricey, but worth it....hard to find bakeries like that anymore.

I'm glad the prices are coming down a bit, I wonder if those prices listed are higher than in other areas because it's Manhattan. Might check them out some day and see how things have changed, they'd have to change quite a bit for me to shop there. Even if I was rich, I wouldn't want to pay for example, $18 for a bottle of vitamins that cost $12 in other places.

I haven't even been inside a whole foods in years. They were (and probably still are) WAY more expensive than Sprouts, which is where a usually shop for much of my food. It just made no sense to me to pay so much for food of similar quality to food I could get for a lot less at Sprouts.

Whole Foods has made a "killing" off those who think that "organic" is of primary importance. Their prices are ridiculous, and any benefits their products may offer are questionable, at best. It almost makes sense for Amazon to buy this brand, as it fits in nicely with the Amazon business model.

Just went to Whole Foods yesterday expecting to see some price cuts.. NADA... Nothing... Zilch.... All the prices were just as exorbitant as they've always been.. So either its a damn lie, or Amazon just hasn't gotten to all the stores with price changes

Whole Foods is about whole food. No GMOs. No trans fats or other nasties. I do like their organic food and have been eating it for years. We have a wonderful Whole Foods store not far from where I live. I shop there constantly. It has always been a pleasant shopping experience for me and my friends and family. It's a nice place for a casual lunch too.
