Amazon - Ever Received a Knock Off

Back in July I ordered a Korean sunscreen. It didn’t really have anything in it that I recognized as being used in a sunscreen. When I went to review the comments on it, two reviewers said it was fake and it didn’t even look like the original product. The product was no longer available. Two days later the listing is totally gone. It was a product that wasn’t covered by Prime shipping.

In theory it’s eligible for return but I’m not going to put myself through that aggravation. Caveat emptor.

Isn't a knockoff a fake of a name brand product? Like Avon lotion. This sunscreen seems a fake generic. That means it is just fake rather than a knockoff, doesn't it?

My friend gave me a set of Game of Throne dvd's she bought from Amazon for Christmas. I went to make a backup of the set and my drive wouldn't play them. Doing a bit of research and checking the meta data of the discs revealed a visibly perfect copy of the original set, packaging and all, file integrity not so perfect. Apparently most dvd's sold today are not made by the original manufacturer.

Whatever it was, it was using the same name & fonts as the original. That means I don’t have trust in what’s really in the tubes.

I paid $5 shipping since it wasn’t Prime so would have to pay shipping again to return it and I know that a refund wouldn’t come easily.

Near you, do you have a UPS store, Kohl's, Staples, or Whole Foods? You can return Amazon items free at any of those locations. UPS may charge you $1.00. I know you live in BC but don't know if you live in a good size town or not.

No. Nothing like this nearby. I’ve accepted my lose and will do my best to be more cautious.

I can understand this lady buying a couple of condoms. I can understand it even if she bought a dozen but 1,000 is a bit too much. Maybe the media is not giving us the whole story.

I know that many people were hoarding toilet paper when the pandemic started. Never heard of anyone hoarding condoms but who knows what some people hoard? I guess it pays to be prepared!
