Amazon has a discount outlet where they sell some items at really great discounts, and it is called “Woot”. You can use the same credit card with Woot as you do with Amazon, so you still get Amazon points for anything you buy.
You can just browse the website to find things, but if you sign up for their email, then you get a list of specials every day.
I have ordered from them a few times and everything went through the same as if i had ordered it from Amazon, and the items worked fine. Some are overstocks, some are older models that are being replaced, some are renewed or returned; just like the Amazon Warehouse used to have.
Here is an example of what they have today, it is an open box clearance, and many items are half price or less.

It’s interesting but I wouldn’t feel comfortable paying, what is for me, a fairly substantial price for some of the electronics shown.

I suppose that it depends on the category and the specialized knowledge of the buyer.

Good point.

For example the Windows PCs sold are refurbs and many quite dated by most standards. As a result, they come with Windows 10 which is on the verge of being retired. Updating to Windows 11 is free but you need to know which of these machines is eligible for it and which are not.

You'd probably have to consult the manufacturers' support sites for those and other details, like expandability and BIOS updates and hardware drivers.

Well, I don't know if Woot has always been a part of Amazon or not. I purchase my Ninja Creami from Woot for $99. a few years ago. Maybe 3 years ago. It worked fine and is still working. Now a new one on Amazon goes for $179., same exact model.

I just logged into it and I still have an account. Showed my past purchase. I think I wasn't sure about it when I placed that order but could not pass up the price on the Creami. Now that it is connected with Amazon I would trust it more.

We have had them here for quite sometime. My wife bought one and that’s all I ever heard about it.

We have a store that opened a few weeks ago that supposedly sells Amazon returns, etc.

The way it goes is on "restocking day", everything is $14, next day $12, the next day$8...down to the 7th day, when everything left is a dollar.

I stopped in once on restocking day and it was like Times Square on New Years Eve. Everyone grabbing things from bins and tables in a frenzy.

Frankly, there were very few things, to me, worth $14 and the few that were were "sketchy". You could not return anything for any reason.

We used to have a store that sold Amazon returns. It was in an old hardware store. There were stores in some of the other bigger towns 30 -40 miles away, but they all folded. I was about to ask if anyone had a store near them. Any in PA.?

Today, Woot had some liquid lipstick on sale for $1.99-$2.99, and I like that for in the summer because it does not melt like regular lipstick in a tube can do if it gets too hot.
They have a nice selection of colors, and when I looked it up on amazon, that same lipstick is around $9-$11 for the exact same thing. Since it was such a good deal, I ordered one.

In this area the local Amazon mega warehouse has truckloads of mystery boxes that they make available for giveaways in poor neighborhoods for various events throughout the year.

I can’t really picture how it works when a kid wants a doll or a dump truck, needs a coat or some underwear and ends up with a box of denture cream or adult diapers. 🤔
