Hearing today that the US is employing Apache helicopters and A10 Warthog planes seems like the smaller targets are being raised in priority. I still think the nations who get the vast majority of their oil through the Strait of Hormuz should be taking the greater role of securing that passage, or quit complaining about oil prices.
