An abandoned old house.

Yeah, did it right before the 2008 bust
Doubled our money

The Historical (hysterical) Society said I couldn't do it
because it was in the historic blocks
My mother turned down an offer to buy a 145 year old house. She laid out why we couldn't. Man, it's worse then living in an HOA!!

Some old abandoned houses are found to be amazing time-capsules. Others you can research and find why people left so much in a hurry and it's sometimes sad stories or horror ones.

Although, what puzzle me, is why aren't these abandoned houses or commercial properties not demolished and the lands made available for people to build new homes or new businesses. There were two properties (semi-detached) which suffered a major fire aka only the walls remained, took over a decade to be fixed.

Blocks of abandoned flats took twice as long to get shifted. I guess the haunted ones would take the work/hobbies from the Paranormal researchers... Who knows?

Some are really in good shape and could be made habitable and made available to get homelessness sorted, it would be something to consider, yes?

Sometimes the property is tied up in a family fight over who owns the property. Maybe part of the family wants to sell but one doesn’t so it just sits there. Or no one wants to fix up a place they don’t have clear title to. Or they won’t/ can’t hire a lawyer to fight it out.
It cost money to tear a property down.

I have done a few also, it can be rewarding... However after halving our money on the last one I quit.
Yup

There's a time to take
and there's a time to forsake

Sold the last house we flipped right before the collapse of 2008
Didn't even know
Just dumb luck

Went to raw land and cabin building

Not a good time to do even that right now
