It is more awful. Not only did he shoot his friend and lie about it, he didn't try to help the victim or call 911 until the victim's father asked him to.
But it won't get enormous international media play. Wrong sorts of location, faces and names for that, though the victim is just as dead as the others and his family's sorrow the same.

Yeah, you'd think the idiot would know better than to try to get away with it. But maybe he figured other cops would just take his word for it, since cops usually believe other cops & frequently don't want to investigate their own. Check out this case involving an LAPD cop murdering an ex boyfriend's wife. Note how long the police department refused to investigate one of their own psychos - 25 years: (Police officers even removed evidence that would have convicted their fellow cop) The victim's family tried to convince police to investigate the cop & they refused.
