An Inquiring Mind Wants To Know Is There Anything Good On Netflix or Prime?

Another thing I can't believe I didn't mention earlier...Eureka. It's on Amazon Prime. I decided to watch the pilot again for "old time's sake" and and got hooked again! I am rewatching the series for the third time. Obviously I love it. It's about a U.S. Marshall and his delinquent daughter who wind up in a town full of super geniuses. He subsequently becomes their sheriff after something weird happens to the other sheriff who then has to retire. Despite his average intelligence, he is usually the one who saves the day (with some help) when the strange happenings in the town cause emergencies. It's fun to watch and I actually don't remember how all of the episodes played out, so it's almost like I'm watching the series for the first time.

I always felt that the way he saved the day was that not having the background of most in the town but good thinking processes he often asked questions that helped the geniuses have a fresh POV that led them to solutions.

When i was young my Dad instilled the idea that questions were good and asking the right questions was essential, whether of yourself, or of others.

"Barefoot"

... not all good, but overall refreshing in a simple way.

Mississippi Burning is on Prime. The subtitles weren't synced with the dialogue very well, though. There was like a 10 second delay, which was kind of annoying, and I can't understand the dialogue in movies without subtitles, so it was better than nothing, but why in the !@#$% can't they sync the subtitles?

But that's a great movie, even if they did take quite a bit of liberty with the true story, but that's to be expected in a Hollywood movie. If you want the facts, read a book. Gene Hackman was at his best bad-ass self in it.

I've noticed earlier on my SkyQ that as VIP customer I could upgrade to something called UltimateTV and get Netflix.

I'll call them tomorrow as I've already spoken to them about signing on Discovery+ just last week.

Sincerely, I don't know if it'll be profitable as the only thing I'm interested on Netflix is The Crown and maybe catching up on the latest video of Gabriel Iglesias.

Any suggestions friends?

Is there a monthly charge?

Our cable company is giving their customers this streaming box called Flex for free that lets you access dozens of streaming channels, and movie sports and news channels, plus cable channels.

Is it similar?

Certainly not prime. I got fed up with the limited amount of watchable moves, I stopped subscribing to the networks I was watching because the value of movie selection is defunct.

Hi, it isn't a streaming box they give. It's an app they provide on the SkyQ box system screen. Along with many others including YouTube, Discovery+ and Disney+. They've just updated their system and these are new options.

As I haven't asked about it yet, I don't know if it'll cost extra monthly.

Hoping this explains. Cheers!🤔🙃

Update: We've changed our system from SkyQ boxes to SkyStream Pucks. No more antenna or satellite required. Received Wednesday installed Friday.

It's amazingly fast and it'll save us about half monthly. We used to have 300 channels and the ability to record programs. Now that it's been a while since hubby has passed away and our contract was to be renewed.

The satellite is always a bit of a problem as when you move out, you have to have it removed but sky installs a new one in new house and permission is required again.

This new system of stream hasn't removed any of the regular channels we were watching to begin with. So, going from 300 down to 150 didn't cause a problem at all. Still have all our favourites lol!

As a bonus, we get the basic Netflix package for 18 months. Man, it's jammed pack of films, TV series and more. We got rid of the Ultra HD package as our TV already is projecting in UHD. Another savings.

It was easy peasy to install, much less cables. So, it's power cable, new HDMI and new remote with batteries included. So far, there's been no lagging. Nice and many new and old and extras to watch.

Early Christmas present for me and daughter... 👍

Is there anything on Netflix or Prime that is worth watching. I find that looking for something to watch overwhelming, wading through what seems an endless menu of programs on their sites. I'm interested in any of the movie/tv genres.
If you're planning to get Prime I wouldn't advise it. It's a waste of money. There are similar programs on Hulu. I didn't care for Netflix. Most of their lineup seemed to be creepy programming or stuff that was all TV-MA and I'm not fond of that.

Prime, all the paid subscriptions aside (we subscribe to none) is a vast sea of just about every movie ever made, and commercial free. Many are free, but many others range from $3 to $4. An exception is movies currently in theaters. Those are generally in the $20 range, but in time they slowly get cheaper. They also have serial TV, some free and some not. We skip that because we are Comcast subscribers and have access to a zillion channels, many of which are free and drenched with older TV.
