An IV fluid shortage was created from the hurricanes after a plant in North Carolina that produces 60% of them was taken out. The US/FDA has allowed the import of fluids from 5 different countries since an emergency

The company will restart production in phases eventually getting back to 100%. In the meantime many places are having to delay/cancel surgeries due to shortage.

To me this argues against monopolistic national corporations controlling just about anything important. I think it comes about precisely because of the corporate-friendly interpretation of the Constitution's Commerce Clause.

The economic system needs more competition, more dispersion, and the ability for States to protect their industries and supply chains from Wall Street monsters and the race to the bottom. It's absurd that States can't levy import tariffs to prevent scab States from undermining others.
