I think the whole Mr. Potato Head thing is much ado about something utterly inconsequential. The sex (or gender or whatever) of a potato? Gimme a break.

This, like the Dr. Seuss feigned outrage, was a corporate decision. It had nothing to do with political correctness. The corporate leaders decided to remove the "Mr." for whatever reason and then Fox "news" made a big deal about it. Most of us would never have given it a second thought, but Fox loves to keep their viewers outraged for ratings.

I think it's all just an attempt at distracting people by giving them something else to argue about. It clouds the real issues facing us at the present time.

When the temperature goes up, change the name of a street or a sports team, move a portrait, or degender the potato heads, rather than tackling the real problems.

Yes, just like the topic of fox hunting in the UK. Everytime, the government screws up on something, the issue of fox hunting starts appearing in the British papers.
