...And Relax

Relaxing is a good way to relieve stress, but sometimes stress is also the reason that a person cannot relax. I know' when I am really concerned and worrying about something , just sitting down ad relaxing is not usually a doable thing for me.

Actually, just pacing back and forth seems to help, and even better is going outside and taking a long walk, while maybe talking with God about the whole situation. Or sometimes, just walking and telling the family dog the whole story helps, basically just talking about it, and getting it off of your chest.

Another thing that helps me with stress, is to get involved in something else, but not something that I have to concentrate hard to do, because I usually can't do that. But just working in the garden, weedeatering, or (yuck)even doing the dishes, will get your mind off the worries , and then I can settle down, and relax.

Lie flat on your back; three slow and deep breaths in thru the nose and out thru the mouth thinking "relax" on the out breath; beginning from the tip top of the head, feel tension release and slowly follow it down thru the body as it flows out thru the tippy toes; feel the weight of the body sink into the ground; be present and enjoy the moment. Slowly, slowly, slowly. Works every time.

Now, GET BACK TO WORK you lazy hippie new-age slacker!

7 works for me, once broke my leg at work, and im a bad patient, sat at home with knitting needle down my cast could not settle. So off with my crutches to a local nature reserve, i could not go round at speed, and being slower i saw / found much more, taught me a valuble lesson.

Distraction, or go do something else works for me.
My garden is a huge stress reducer.
Exercise helps.
I have a cheap exercise machine, a Gazelle. Hop on for ten minutes and I feel better.
