The 2 doctors mentioned were true scientists looking for a cure that caused a very serious and debilitating disease, including death. Saving mankind from not having quality of life was their desire. Of this, I’m sure. They saved the world from many people dying.

And, it must have given Dr. Salk great satisfaction knowing that he saved the world from a pandemic that many of us may not have survived.
