Angel, Ghost or Something Else, Take 2

Having had visits from both my first husband and my Dad spirit gets my vote, a word i prefer to ghost because because it's a little more accurate and a little less burdened with imagery from silly to sublime (Casper to the Titular character in Ghost with Patrick Swayze).

But as far as I'm concerned if it helps the living person cope with tough things it doesn't matter if they imagined it.

It may be some sort of grief induced hallucinations, that are experienced after the death of a close family member, similar to the left-over 'ghost' feelings of a lost limb. Our brain is a wondrous creation.

I appreciate Spirit it is better than Ghost, but you have to
remember I am only a man and grab the nearest word I
can find.

Hopefully I will remember if I post something similar in
the future.

Thank you.

Mike.

Here is another admission that a dead family member came to this
lady who is a senior reporter in the daily mail, Amanda Platell her
report is much shorter that the last ones that I posted.

Mike.
I call this one of the purest forms of love I can think of. It has happened to me with relatives. Even when my cat died, she refused to leave me and often came and jumped on my bed. Probably looking for the breakfasts of bacon and eggs she and I used to share. 😸

I believe its likely something in the person's mind.

Doesn't make it any less real to the person feeling it, after all everything we perceive is in or through the mind. If people find comfort from this then I am happy for them. Just don't pay folks to make it happen...
Yes. The prof might agree with you considering neuroscience. However, how would one factor in the Symbiotic Consciousness even though the existential is not part of the equation? :) šŸ’„

The part in bold i absolutely agree with...and i believe in spirit visits. But i know there are unscrupulous people out there and i would not recommend anyone pay for help in having ADCs. Not when there are those of us who will gladly tell you what things to look for--for free.

Studies suggest people who had traumatic childhoods or exposed to dangerous situations are more likely to have paranormal fantasies.

Seeing ghosts, hearing voices, researchers say can be an early indicator of medical conditions such as schizophrenia. Some evidence even suggests that people with underlying brain disorders tend to have ā€œparanormal confrontationsā€ that are more intense and negative.

But whatever people believe and what brings them comfort, who can argue with that. Me, I believe the science and the fact that we still know very little about the mind and even less of extended consciousness.

My question is what studies, done by whom, with what participants and done where and what was the objective? I received word the other day from a neuroscientist that there is so much new research coming into them that it will take some time just to sort it out and read. The results that you cite in your comment are based on data that is considerably old and has been used now for many years as there has been nothing notable to take its place. Therefore, in my opinion, it is as you said science knows little about the mind but that gap is closing. I will look at some studies I have access to and will try to condense it into a more digestible fashion and report back. In the meantime, as you said lets take a person's account at face value until the evidence supports specific and reliable evidence. Thanks for yours comments, they are important to the future ideas of mental wellness. šŸ’„ šŸ’ž
